The Geochang Massacre committed by the South Korean army

Koch’ang Massacre (Geochang Massacre, 거창 양민학살 사건). From February 9 until February 11, 1951, the South Korean army massacred 719 unarmed citizens in Geochang, South Gyeongsang district of South Korea. The victims included 385 children. The South Korean government attempted to downplay the massacre by labeling the victims as communist bandits.
