Several professors and students at Yonhi College organize reading societies to propagate communism

Several professors at Yonhi College (Yonsei University), led by Yi Sun-taek and Paek Nam-un (one-time minister of education in the north), conspire with a few leftist students led by Cho Un-sang and propagated communism utilizing the Economic Research Society in the college and also organized a few reader’s societies to study communism.

The Japanese army occupies Wuhan, China, sending the Korean communists into retreat

The Japanese army occupied Wuhan, China, and the Korean revolutionaries retreated to the hinterland. Some of the communists who retreated later traveled north to join the Chinese Communists.
