Alexandra Petrovna Kim joins the Bolshevik party.

The February Revolution in Russia, which ended three centuries of the Romanov rule. The monarchy was overthrown and replaced by the Provisional Government. This was the first stage of the Russian Revolution.

Although it is called the “February Revolution”, it took place on March 8^th to March 16^th. Russia at the time still used the old Julian calendar and had not yet adopted the new Gregorian calendar (which we use today).

This would be followed by the better-known October Revolution, later in the year.

The October Revolution, better known as the Bolshevik or Socialist Revolution, led by Vladimir Lenin and the Bolshevik party.

The date of this event according to the Julian calendar is October 25^th, hence the name. However, according to modern (Gregorian) calendars, this event occurred on November 7^th.

The Russian Civil War would break out immediately, between the Red Army and the White Army. The Russian Civil War would last for 5 years, from 1917 until 1923.
