Kim Il-sung and his forces win a victory against the Japanese police in the Korean town of Pochonbo

On June 4 to 5, Kim Il-sung and his guerillas infiltrate into a Korean town of Pochonbo and score a victory over the Japanese police. This is possibly Kim Il-sung’s best known and most widely publicized battle.

The USSR begin to deport Koreans to Central Asia

The first group of Koreans in the USSR are deported to Central Asia. Koreans are the first ethnic group to be deported in the USSR. Many of the original Korean communists are either killed or die during deportation.
