The 6-10 (the "101 Persons Incident")

The 6-10 or the “101 Persons Incident”, named for the 101 communists prosecuted at this time. This was a demonstration planned by the Tuesday Association for the funeral of King Sunjong. South Korean historians dismiss this event as an incident caused by “patriotic students” but North Korea historians as well as Korean historians in Japan with communist leanings give credit to the Korean communists. This event led to the almost total destruction of the Tuesday Association.

Students of the January Association issue a declaration known as the Chong-u-hoe son-on (The Declaration of Chong-u-hoe). They argue that the communists must form a united front with the nationalists, and pointed to the upsurge of the proletariat movement in Japan as well as the large-scale revolutionary activities of the communists in China.
