This was the first formal communist party inside Korean land, established April 17, 1925.
The organizational framework of the KCP closely resembled that formulated by Yi Tong-hwi’s party in Shanghai. The party’s purpose was not only to spread communism in Korea and not only the liberation of Korea from Japanese rule, but also the triumph of the peasants and the workers over the bourgeoise– this included both Koreans as well as foreigners. They wanted to realize a classless society in Korea.
